This Bank Holiday Monday, August 25th, you'll find me trading my usual Stiffkey studio views for the bustling atmosphere of the Aylsham Show. I'm thrilled to be exhibiting in the Art Marquee at this iconic Norfolk event, bringing a carefully curated selection of my original landscape paintings to one of the county's most beloved agricultural shows.
The Aylsham Show has been at the heart of Norfolk's social and agricultural calendar for over 70 years, and being part of this tradition feels particularly special. Set against the magnificent backdrop of Blickling Park, with its Jacobean hall creating a stunning setting, the show celebrates everything that makes Norfolk extraordinary – from prize-winning livestock to the finest local produce our county has to offer.
What You'll Find at My Stand
I'll be showcasing a selection of my original oil paintings that capture the essence of North Norfolk's dramatic coastline and ever-changing light. From the sweeping marshlands where harriers glide silently overhead to the golden hour glow that transforms Blakeney Quay, each piece represents a moment of timeless beauty from our remarkable landscape.
My impressionistic approach aims to transport you directly into these Norfolk scenes – whether it's the salt-scented breeze across Holkham's vast sands or the intimate tranquility of Stiffkey's quiet creeks.
Come and Say Hello
I'll be personally manning the tent between 2-4pm on Monday, so please do stop by for a chat. There's nothing I love more than discussing the inspiration behind each piece, sharing stories about the locations that captivate me, or simply talking about the magic of Norfolk's coastal light with fellow enthusiasts.

Whether you're a seasoned collector, someone looking for that perfect piece to capture a Norfolk memory, or simply curious about the artistic process, I'd be delighted to meet you. After all, art – much like a good glass of wine – is best appreciated when shared with others who understand its power to transport and inspire.
Beyond the Art Tent
While you're at the show, you'll be spoilt for choice with attractions. The main ring will be alive with everything from freestyle motocross displays to heavy horse parades, while the Food Hall promises a treasure trove of Norfolk's finest producers. Children can enjoy everything from fancy dress competitions to sack races, and the traditional livestock competitions showcase the very best of Norfolk agriculture.
The show runs from 8:30am until 6pm, with gates opening early for those eager to make the most of this celebration of Norfolk life. And the best part? Children aged 16 and under enter free, and car parking is complimentary too.
A Perfect Norfolk Day Out
There's something deeply satisfying about combining Norfolk's artistic heritage with its agricultural traditions. The Aylsham Show represents exactly what I try to capture in my paintings – the authentic spirit of this remarkable county, where wild beauty meets working landscape, and where community comes together to celebrate the things that make this place so special.
So whether you're already planning to attend this fantastic Norfolk tradition or you're looking for the perfect Bank Holiday Monday adventure, I hope to see you in the Art Marquee. Come and discover how the landscapes you might walk through every day can be transformed through paint and passion into something that captures their eternal beauty.
See you there!
